Chat with Bali Zero on WhatsAppFrance led the country-of-origin ranking for realised foreign investment in Bali through the third quarter of 2026, according to BaliPost's 3 November report quoting provincial investment and licensing office head I Ketut Sukra Negara.
The report gives France's investment as Rp2.33 trillion, ahead of Russia at Rp1.95 trillion and Australia at Rp1.94 trillion. Bali's total realised investment was Rp30.80 trillion, with foreign investment accounting for 58.8 percent and domestic investment 41.2 percent. BaliPost report
These are cumulative figures through September. They should not be described as investment realised during July–September alone.
Across total investment, BaliPost lists hotels and restaurants at Rp12.49 trillion, followed by housing, industrial estates and offices at Rp9.35 trillion. Those sector totals should not be relabelled as French investment or foreign investment alone.
The figures above are attributed to BaliPost's account of DPMPTSP's statement. The underlying official statistical table was not available for independent reconciliation during this review.
For an investor, a ranking can provide context for questions about market activity. It cannot replace evidence about a particular company, site or proposed project.
A useful planning exercise is to keep a market-data note separate from the project's own assumptions. Record the reporting period and source, then list the evidence supporting projected customers, operating costs, financing and expected revenue. This helps prevent a broad investment headline from becoming an unsupported sales forecast.
If a property seller or project promoter uses the headline as evidence that an opportunity must perform well, ask for the link between the provincial statistics and the specific proposal. A country ranking by itself does not establish that connection.
Consider asking which investment category the proposal belongs to, what evidence supports the revenue forecast, and which assumptions would change if demand or costs differed from the plan. Record who supplied each answer and which documents can substantiate it.
For a proposed Bali hospitality business, keep the market assessment alongside a separate, project-specific document review. The latter should establish the business activity, location and relevant permissions using the actual records and applicable requirements.
The reported ranking is useful context. It does not show that a particular parcel has increased in value, that permits will be processed faster, or that an individual investment will deliver a return. Those claims require their own evidence.
