Do Not Panic: Your KITAS Is Safe

The passport stamp is simply a physical endorsement of a digital record. Losing the passport does not cancel your KITAS.

That said, you need to act quickly and follow the correct procedure. A lost passport without prompt action can create complications with law enforcement, your employer, and immigration authorities.

Immediate Actions (First 24 Hours)

Action 1: Secure Your Location

Before anything else:

• Note the exact location, time, and circumstances of the loss/theft
• If stolen, move to a safe location
• Check thoroughly (hotel safe, bag pockets, restaurant lost-and-found) before assuming it is gone
• If at a hotel, inform the front desk immediately

Action 2: File a Police Report

This is the most critical first step. Go to the nearest police station (Kantor Polisi) and file a Surat Tanda Lapor Kehilangan (STLK) - a report of loss.
