E28A Investor KITAS 2026: Requirements, Rights and Price
The E28A is Indonesia's investor visa for a foreigner who holds shares in a PT PMA (foreign-investment company). It is a limited-stay visa (ITAS) that can be extended and converted into another limited-stay permit. It needs a sponsor: the PT PMA you invested in. Bali Zero sells the E28A for 2 years.
Who Qualifies
- Own shareholding of at least IDR 10 billion (or the equivalent) in the sponsoring company, which must be registered with the Ministry of Investment/BKPM.
- E28A admits passive shareholders with sufficient own shareholding: holding a post in the company is not required.
- If your shares are worth less than IDR 10 billion and you also hold a post in the company (director or commissioner), you must apply for a work visa matching that post instead.
- The PT PMA's own paid-up capital of IDR 2.5 billion is the company's threshold. It is not the test of your holding.
What the E28A Lets You Do
- Invest, and carry out business, investment and company-establishment activities
- Act as a member of the board of directors or the board of commissioners of the company you invested in
- Supervise the production of goods or services at the company you established, including at its office, factory or similar site
- Bring your family to live in Indonesia
- Leave and re-enter Indonesia while the re-entry permit is valid
- Take part in education through the dual-activity mechanism (Rangkap Kegiatan Izin Tinggal)
- Carry out investment activities, travel as a tourist, and visit friends or family
What the E28A Does Not Allow
- Staying in Indonesia beyond the period of your stay permit
- Work that does not match the stay permit
- Selling goods or services, unless the work requires it
Documents
You apply online at evisa.imigrasi.go.id. Create an account first, then upload these electronic files:
- Visa application letter
- National passport valid for at least 6 months before it expires
- Proof of living expenses in Indonesia: a bank statement for the last 3 months, in the name of the foreigner or the sponsor, showing at least USD 2,000 or the equivalent
- Recent colour photo (taken within the last year)
- Curriculum vitae (CV)
- Itinerary
- Proof of shareholding of at least IDR 10,000,000,000 or the equivalent in the sponsoring company registered with the Ministry of Investment/BKPM
- The Ministry of Law decision approving the establishment of the company
- The company's current-account (giro) statements for the last 2 months. If the company was established less than 2 months ago, they can be submitted to the immigration office up to 90 days after the ITAS is issued.
The Journey
- The visa stage at the Directorate General of Immigration takes five working days after the visa fee is paid. Bali Zero typically takes 7-10 working days (indicative).
- The visa is valid for 90 days from issuance. If you do not use it within that time you must apply for a new visa to enter Indonesia.
- The ITAS and the re-entry permit are issued automatically when the officer admits you at the immigration checkpoint.
- The stay counts from the date of arrival.
- The sponsor extends the stay online through its account at evisa.imigrasi.go.id. Imigrasi does not state the length of an extension.
